Renowned Egyptian actor Salah El Saadany passed away on Friday, April 19, at the age of 81, leaving behind a rich legacy in the Egyptian entertainment industry.
El Saadany’s death was confirmed by Ashraf Zaki, Head of the Egyptian Actors Syndicate, through Egyptian official media channels. El Saadany had been absent from the art scene for the past few years.
Born on October 23, 1943, Salah El Saadany came from a family with rural roots and a notable cultural background. He earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and was the friend of Egyptian actor Adel Emam and the brother of the late satirist Mahmoud El Saadany.
His career began with the TV series ‘Departure’ in 1960, followed by a return to acting in 1964 with the series ‘The Victim.’ Throughout the 1970s, he was notably active in cinema, appearing in several films such as ‘The Earth,’ ‘The Bullet is Still in My Pocket,’ and ‘My Beautiful Teacher.’ He made a significant mark in television dramas, starring in prominent series like ‘Arabesque,’ ‘Southern Dream,’ ‘Layali Al-Helmiya,’ ‘Yacoubian Building,’ and ‘A Man in the Time of Globalization.'”
