His Excellency Abdul Hamid Ahmed, Secretary-General of the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation, has received Dr. Lubana Mushouh, Syrian Minister of Culture, and the accompanying delegation during their visit to the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation on Monday, February 7, 2022. During the visit, both parties discussed cultural relations in general and the role that the Foundation plays in enhancing the presence of Arab culture through honoring, celebrating and appreciating writers.
Moreover, HE Abdul Hamid Ahmed gave HE the Syrian Minister of Culture a comprehensive overview about the Al Owais Cultural Foundation and the civilized dimension reflected in all its activities and events, praising the nature of the relations that connect the Foundation with intellectuals in Syria, where a large number of Syrian innovators received the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Award. The Foundation has also hosted many Syrian cultural events, the most prominent of which was “The Syrian Cultural Week”, under the title of “Al-Sham: Civilization and Creativity”, organized by the Foundation in 2005.
For her part, Dr. Lubana Mushawah praised the positive reputation of the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation in the Syrian cultural circles, underlining Syria’s civilized role in the region through the arts and civilization it has contributed to the world throughout its history and until the present day.
Next, the Syrian Minister of Culture presented a souvenir to the Al Owais Cultural Foundation, which consisted of an oil painting by Syrian artist, Nather Hosni, depicting a scene of a white dove of peace. In turn, the Secretary-General of the Al Owais Cultural Foundation presented a commemorative shield to the Syrian Minister and thanked her for her visit.
From the Syrian side, the meeting was attended by HE Dr. Ghassan Abbas, Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to the United Arab Emirates, HE Kinan Fouad Zahreddine, Consul General of the Syrian Arab Republic, and Ibrahim Al-Hashimi, Executive Director of the Al Owais Cultural Foundation.
