The Sudanese capital, Khartoum, will host from December 1-3 the Khartoum Arab Poetry Festival, organised by the Sharjah Department of Culture, with the participation of more than 24 poets from Sudan and other Arab countries.
The festival comes under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to pay attention to Arabic poetry. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Head of the Department of Culture, stated that the festival is the culmination of Khartoum House of Poetry’s achievements for the past years, witnessed massive cultural events in which young talents from different regions of Sudan participated.
In three days, the festival will hold various activities such as a book fair with the participation of 10 publishing houses, and the “Photography” exhibition, and a poetry session in which several Arab poets will participate.
