Selection Standing Regulations of The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Award
Article 1
The following words and phrases shall have the following meanings assigned thereto, unless the context indicates otherwise:

The General Secretary | The General Secretary of the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation |

Selection Committee | The Selection Committee of the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Award |
Article 2
A. | The Committee shall start its work within two weeks of closing the nomination of each round. |

Following the preliminary selection by the General Secretariat, works are sent to the members of the Selection Committee according to their specialisations; members should have stated dates to send back their reports. After that, the Committee is invited to convene as per the date and place decided by the General Secretariat. |
Article 4
Members of the Committee shall receive cash remunerations at the end of each round.
Article 5
Should any member fail to do his or her assignment, the General Secretariat shall appoint another member. The former member shall not be entitled to receive remuneration.
Article 6
Should any member fail to attend the final meetings of the Committee, the Committee shall review his or her report and take its final decisions. The member shall not be entitled to dispute the decisions after being announced.
Article 7
The General Secretary shall facilitate and arrange the meetings of the Committee, keep its decisions confidential, and manage its papers and documents.
Article 8
The Membership of the Committee shall be confidential to guarantee the integrity and the independence of the Award. However, the General Secretariat may announce the names of the member at the ceremony.

The General Secretariat shall be exclusively entitled to announce the winners, the members of the Committee and their final report. Members of the Committee are not allowed to announce themselves or the winners. |
Article 9
A. | Members of the Committee cannot nominate themselves to the Award. If a member wants to apply for the Award, he or she must resign from the Committee and nominate him or herself after two rounds.

A member of the Committee cannot be a relative of a candidate. Should it be proved that a winner is a relative of a member of the Committee, the Award shall be withdrawn and the Foundation shall retain its legal claim against the member. |
Article 10
In the case of the demise of a member of the Committee before completing his or her job, the General Secretariat shall appoint another member and with no remuneration to the former. If he or she dies after submitting the final report, Article 6 herein shall apply.
Article 11
It is deemed null and void any term herein that does not adhere to the Articles of Associations. The Board of Trustees may amend any regulation herein.
