French Minister of Culture Franc Riester has opened the “Roads of Arabia: Archaeological Treasures of Saudi Arabia” exhibition at the Louvre Abu Dhabi on Friday, November 9, 2018. The exhibition marks the first anniversary of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, which represents a cultural turning point for the redion and the Middle East.
Speaking at the event, French Minister of Culture, who also visited “Japanese Connections” exhibition at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, said that the museum is meeting point for different cultures that has put the UAE at the forefront of the international cultural scene.
Moreover, he added that the Louvre Abu Dhabi, located at the Cultural District in Al Saadiyat Island, embodies an unprecedented experience of cultural and artistic exchange between two countries, pointing out that the UAE sets an example for other countries in tolerance, coexistence, openness and respect for all religions, rights and civilizations.
It is worth mentioning that the Louvre Abu Dhabi, a unique cultural project shared by two nations, continues to consolidate Emirati-French relations in various fields. The museum also paves the way for a new level of cooperation between the two countries in the aim of achieving their common goal of supporting peace, coexistence and stability in the region and in the world at large.
