ATI publishes its new book about Sharjah Ruler and theatre
The Arab Theatre Institute (ATI) published a book entitled “Sultan and Theatre.. Speeches. Dialogues. Letters. And Discussions in Theatre”. The book is a collection of dialogues, conversations, letters, and discussions about the theatre of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and Supreme President of the Arab Theatre Insititue, which extends from April 20, 1979 AD when His Highness delivered his famous quote in The Africa Institute on the occasion of the performance of the play “The Wonder Company” by the National Youth Theater Troupe, where he said: “It is time to stop the concrete revolution in the country, to be replaced by the cultural revolution.”
The process of recording and documenting the book for His Highness’s words in the theater continues until October 1, 2019, when Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi received, the President of the Sharjah Performing Arts Academy, accompanied by several senior Arab theater artists, directors of theater institutes and leading Arab theatre artists.
The book contains 40 speeches said by His Highness on various theatrical occasions related to the theatrical events in Sharjah and his initiatives launched in the Arab world and his messages that he addressed in some major cities such as Paris, London, and Xiamen in China, which focus mostly on the importance of “new humanization” that replaces the current weakened humanism.
