Al Hira Literary Council (AHLC) at the Sharjah Department of Culture organised a literary symposium on the late Emirati poet Hadef Mohammed Al Darei as a memorial.
The presenter of the symposium, Hamdan Sarroukh al Darei, discussed the poet’s good morals and humility along with his bright career in Nabati poetry. He stated that the passing of Hadef was a great loss to Emirati poetry.
Ayed Al Ketbi, one of the speakers at the symposium, mentioned the exploits of the late poet, describing him as a man of wisdom and simplicity in a life he lived on documenting the Nabati poetic heritage, explaining that Al Darei’s performance in “Shellah and Tarij”, one of the lyrical arts of Nabati poetry, was remarkable.
Ahmed Al Darei, the late poet’s son, said that his father’s life left a great impact on his behavioural and creative personality, which led him to write poems for years.
