Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, stated that her ministry is working according to a strategic plan that aims to establish the culture of creativity among the youth in the cultural and arts sectors, through providing them with the necessary tools and skills to develop their capabilities and lead the future.
In statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the Culture Summit Abu Dhabi’ 2019, Al Kaabi stressed that the event will strengthen the country’s leading stature as an international centre of culture and arts, and contribute to the development of human civilisation, in light of the UAE’s cultural and creative development, as well as achieve the nation’s cultural agenda and the UAE Centennial 2071 objectives.
“We aim to establish the country’s cultural stature as an international centre of knowledge, science and creativity, and our ambassadors in this mission is the Emirati creative, who will carry our culture towards promising prospects and will lead the cultural and intellectual movement, to elevate the country’s creative and expressive arts scene internationality,” Al Kaabi added.
Al Kaabi pointed out that the UAE will participate in the Venice Biennale that will be held in May, through the Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation, with the support of the ministry and the participation of the award-winning poet and director, Nojoum Al Ghanim, while noting that the country’s participation in such international events will showcase its creative talents to an international audience and build bridges with other peoples.
The summit has become a regular event on the country’s annual agenda, due to its success in discussing key issues, such as predicting the future of culture and drawing a roadmap for future generations, Al Kaabi said in conclusion.
