On the occasion of the United Arab Emirates’ 50th National Day, the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation, in collaboration with Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, will be hosting a grand art event under the title of “50 * 50”: The Golden Exhibition of UAE Artists. The exhibition will feature the work of 50 leading UAE plastic artists, who reflect the artistic journey of the UAE during the past half century in the fields of drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, plastic art and formation art among other means of artistic expression. Al Owais Cultural Foundation will also be hosting a seminar on Art in the UAE, which will see the participation of a number of artists and art critics. The event will take place at 7pm on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the Grand Exhibition Hall of the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation, located on Al Rigga Street, Dubai.

The “Golden Exhibition of UAE Artists 50*50” aims to celebrate the Emirati art movement that has reflected and documented the journey of the country’s establishment and growth through art. Not only does art monitor and record progress on the national front, but it also captures the evolution of artistic tools, concepts and philosophies, and highlights the impact of the latest international art trends on the local art scene.
Moreover, a seminar on “Plastic Art in the UAE in Half a Century” will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition. The seminar will feature Salma Al Marri, Ali Al Abdan and Mohammed Al Astad, and will be moderated by Ihsan Al Khatib. The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation will also document the exhibition through a giant album featuring photographs of all the showcased artworks along with the photos and resumes of all participating artists to become a reference for art enthusiasts and academics.
